The production of adhesive ski skins
Pile for colltex® adhesive ski
skins is woven from the hair of mohair mountain goats. Mohair, a natural
material, is treated with a special process that is essential to enable
optimal gliding and climbing. This means that mohair is the ideal base
material for producing high-quality adhesive ski skins. One of the features
of the hair of the mohair mountain goat is a cavity that allows the
adhesive ski skin to remain soft and supple even at very cold temperatures.
|
To achieve the
high tearing resistance of colltex®
adhesive ski skins, they undergo a special process to laminate the mohair
plush with a polyester-reinforced cotton backing material. The colltex®
adhesive is applied to the rear. Provided that the adhesive ski skins
are treated carefully, the properties of this special glue guarantee
excellent comfort and high reliability to touring skiers at low temperatures
and also if the adhesive ski skins are pulled on and off several times
during the same tour.
As well as our pure mohair quality, we also offer a mix
(mohair and synthetic fibres) and a pure synthetic fabric. Using synthetic
fibres to produce adhesive ski skins makes them more abrasion-proof
and resistant in the long term.
